Dr. Carmen Robinson

Dr. Robinson joined WNCCHS in 2023. She attended Pine Forge Academy, one of the four remaining historically-Black boarding academies in the United States, Oakwood (College) University, and Winston Salem State University where she earned her Bachelors of Science degree in Molecular Biology.

After completing her medical degree at Wake Forest University School of Medicine, Dr. Robinson entered residency at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM). She was appointed Chief Resident of the Family & Community Medicine (FCM) residency program at Baylor and participated in the didactics and training needed for Ben Taub General Hospital to receive its Baby-Friendly designation.

Following residency, she became board certified in Family Medicine and served as faculty in the BCM FCM department. Dr. Robinson has experience in academic, corporate, and community health care spaces. She is passionate about health maintenance and disease prevention, and empowers her patients and community to be informed about positive health strategies. Her foci are in whole-body wellness: mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual.

She is an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated where she engages in mentorship activities and community service initiatives. Dr. Robinson is a classically-trained lyric soprano and has performed with Piedmont Opera and North Carolina Opera.
