About Telehealth Visits

Telehealth visits at WNCCHS are designed to provide you with quality care remotely. Request a virtual visit when calling to schedule an appointment or through the MyChart patient portal. These visits are conducted through the MyChart portal on your computer or mobile device, ensuring your health information remains secure and accessible.

How to Request a Telehealth Appointment Through MyChart:

  1. Login to MyChart patient portal.

  2. Navigate to the Visits tab.

  3. Select "Schedule an Appointment."

  4. Select "Virtual Visit."

  5. Select your provider.

  6. Select your preferred dates and times.

  7. Include the reason for the visit.

  8. Click "Schedule It."

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Most non-emergent appointments can be conducted via Telehealth. However, some cases, such as hospital discharges and treatments requiring antibiotics, must be seen in-person. Our clinical team will determine if your appointment is suitable for Telehealth.

  • When calling to make a patient appointment, request a telehealth appointment. You can also request a telehealth appointment through MyChart patient portal— see the instructions higher up on this webpage.

  • Currently, Telehealth visits are available for existing patients. New patients should contact us to schedule an initial in-person appointment.

  • You will need a MyChart account, a device with internet access (computer, smartphone, or tablet), and a quiet, private space for your appointment.

  • Prepare for your Telehealth visit as you would for an in-person appointment. Have a list of your medications, any questions for your provider, and ensure you are in a quiet, private space with a reliable internet connection.

    1. Log into the MyChart patient portal at the time of your appointment.

    2. Navigate to the Visits tab.

    3. Select Upcoming Appointment.

    4. Click "eCheck-in."

    5. Update and verify your demographic information.

    6. Review and sign documents, including the Telehealth consent and other screenings.

    7. Click Submit.

    8. Select "Begin Video Visit."

  • Yes. After your virtual visit, all prescriptions will be sent electronically to your pharmacy of choice.

  • Like any appointment, the cost of your virtual visit will vary based on the nature of the visit and your insurance coverage. We accept most insurance as well as Medicaid and Medicare.

  • Ensure you set up your MyChart account ahead of time and test your device before the appointment. If you experience unexpected technical issues at the start of the appointment, please call our main number.

  • If you are using a cell phone and are not connected to a Wi-Fi network, performing video visits will use cellular data. You can avoid this by connecting to a wireless network.

  • Similar to an in-person health visit, your virtual visit will be private and confidential. MyChart uses secure, encrypted technology to protect your health information during virtual visits.
