Liz is a Licensed Clinical Social Work Associate from Hickory, NC, who is bilingual in English and Spanish. Liz graduated with both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Appalachian State University before relocating to Asheville and joining WNCCHS. Throughout her time in the social work field, Liz has worked with those experiencing homelessness, mental health and substance use disorders, rehabilitation, human and labor trafficking, and other underserved populations in outpatient, residential, and crisis settings.
Working as a clinician in a therapeutic setting, Liz uses a variety of therapeutic modalities, including cognitive and dialectical behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, prolonged exposure, cognitive processing, and many more. Liz primarily works with adults in outpatient settings while utilizing a client-centered approach, striving to create a safe and compassionate space for all of her clients. She focuses on the comfort of the client during sessions and even provides a variety of de-stressing objects for the client's discretion.
Outside of work, Liz enjoys spending time with friends and family, dancing, working out, running, attending concerts, and being in nature. Liz is also a big fan of European and Latin American soccer, F1 racing, and collegiate basketball.
